This October 17th\, join us for an evening of whisky and whimsy at none other than The Gathering Bar & Eatery. \nOur first event will be a bring-your-own-bottle (BYOB) event\, which we call Drammers Time. Each person will need to bring a bottle of whisky they enjoy with a minimum cost of $2\,000 NTD. You can bring bottles that are already open\, but please make sure there is at least half the bottle left so that everyone can give it a try. We will also have a (very nice) mystery dram for everyone to sample at the event. \nThe folks at The Gathering Bar & Eatery have been gracious enough to lend us this incredible space\, so please help them out and order something off their excellent menu. You’re going to want to anyways! \nThis event is organized by the Taiwan Chapter of Drammers United – an international whisky group that features chapters in multiple cities across the globe. Family-owned and run\, the company still trades from No.3 St James’s Street\, with offices in Hong Kong\, Singapore and Tokyo. This time\, they’ve prepared four outstanding whiskies from their lineup for our tasting event\, including: \n\n2010 Small Batch Benrinnes 13y\n2010 Mastercraft Teaninich 15Y\n2013 Mastercraft Craigellachie 12Y\n2010 Mastercraft Benriach 14Y\n\nIn addition to these\, Drammers at the event will also be provided a special Mystery Dram from Taipei Chapter Keeper Lester! \nOur venue for this event is going to be The 18 Whisky & Cigar Lounge. DESCRIPTION:Gordon Macphail’s second distillery opened in 2022\, so while they do not have any single malt ready\, these are blended from G&M’s vast warehouses. \nThe venue we’ll be at is at the Artist Resource Center. Jeremy\, someone I know through a mutual friend\, and also a friend of Michael\, has booked the common room for us. DESCRIPTION:🥃 Salutations Taipei Drammers! 🥃 \nHot off the heels of our April Hunter Laing event\, we’ve been working behind the scenes to bring you a very special event for the month of May. On May 22nd\, community members will get a chance to hang out with the man\, the myth\, the legend – Michael Pang! \nMichael Pang is the founder of Dram Alliance. He’ll be flying in from Hong Kong to host this exclusive tasting event\, where he’s prepared a variety of carefully selected spirits that each represent a chapter of the community: \n🇨🇳 Gisbelle 11 Year – Mongolian Cask (43% ABV) \n🇰🇷 Hwasimjujo The Miraon – Single Roasted Rice Soju\, Scotch Ale Cask (56.2% ABV) \n🇯🇵 Ichiro’s Malt & Grain Canada Premiere 1 – Refill Oloroso Cask Finish (59.6% ABV) \n🇹🇼 Kavalan 16 Year – Virgin Oak Limited Release (59.4% ABV) \n🇨🇦 Wayne Gretzky Ginger Beer Cask Rye (50% ABV) \n🇺🇸 Woodinville Straight Rye – 8 Year (50% ABV) \nIn addition to these\, there will be a Mystery Dram for everyone to enjoy. The guest who provides the most accurate guess (Country\, Distillery\, and Cask Type) wins a special prize! For those keeping track\, that’s seven drams for everyone to check out! \nOur venue this time is MONO MONO\, which is located in the heart of the city. The venue boasts an extensive food and drink menu\, and offers a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for our tasting event. The cover charge for this event will be $1500 NTD. \nAfter the official tasting\, we will begin our 2K Drammers Time BYOB portion of the evening. To participate\, you’ll need to bring a bottle with a minimum cost of $2\,000 NTD. As always\, you can bring bottles that are already open\, but please make sure there is at least half the bottle left so that everyone can give it a try. \nThis event is organized by the Taipei Chapter of Dram Alliance – an international whisky group that features chapters in multiple cities across the globe. We hope that passionate whisky enthusiasts of all experience levels can gather together\, share some drams\, and discuss this wonderful hobby! \n⚠️ There is room for only 20 Drammers at this event\, so please RSVP as soon as you can.
